Settler Philanthropic Members make up approximately half of our membership, and commitment from the sector helps us create the transformative change we seek in support of Indigenous organizations.
MEMBER BENEFITS
Gatherings
As a Philanthropic member organization, you will be invited into deep listening and (un)learning among your peers, and at times, alongside our Indigenous member organizations throughout the year.
Meaningful Connections
We know that transformation requires strong partnerships and collaborators, and The Circle looks for ways to weave together visions, organizations, and strategies that advance Indigenous justice and sovereignty
Resources
The Circle is continuing to build a bundle of resources that support true change within the sector (for example, see the I4DM).
Individualized Support
We make ourselves available for direct requests as best as possible. Sometimes this looks like fee for service support, advising on resource mobilization, or providing introductions to Indigenous folks in the sector.
Visit our Gathering Hub, where all our upcoming events and gatherings are listed.
The Circle accepts applications in October each Fall. We operate on an annual intake for membership applications, this allows us to strengthen our presence with our current members. By aligning the intake cycle annually, we can go with a rhythm that allows for stronger relationship-building, and strengthening our commitments to full engagement and accountability with our Membership.
- Submit Application in October.
- The Circle Summer team reviews applications.
- Eligible organizations will be invited to a 1:1 call.
- The Circle reviews and makes a final decision regarding your application.
- You’ll hear back from The Circle by January.
- You will receive an official communication from us regarding your membership. If your organization is not accepted for membership at this time, we’ll share why. If all is aligned, you will receive a welcome package and you can begin activating your full membership.
- Pay membership dues.
The annual renewal is an opportunity for honest reflection and assessment on your organization’s engagement throughout the year. Settler Philanthropic members can expect to complete an annual evaluation as part of your demonstration of accountability. We ask philanthropic organizations to complete a survey and submit granting information connected to the I4DM.
Settler Philanthropic Organizations are asked to complete their annual form by November 30 of the current year to allow appropriate time for invoicing. Membership dues are required by January 15 of the new year.
In acknowledging that the wealth in so-called canada was built on the lands and labour of Indigenous peoples, we waive registration fees for Indigenous-led member organizations. Settler Philanthropic Members pay annual rates based on their assets. You can find our 2026 rates below.
